I am a junior newspaper journalism major from North Huntingdon, Pa., located about a half-hour from Pittsburgh. I decided to take on the position of copy editor for this semester's UHURU for a number of reasons. First of all, it was a different experience for me because to this point I have been mostly a reporter and editor, and I had never worked for an on-campus magazine before. However, the biggest reason I joined was that I knew how important this magazine is this semester because of the presidential election. This election ranks up with Lincoln or Washington's elections in terms of historical significance, and this magazine is representing that in its pages. I am very proud to have worked for this magazine and am eager to see the final copy.
